I will finally complete Final Fantasy X

I just started a new save file in Final Fantasy X on my PlayStation 5. This play through, I am resolute, will be the one where I finally finish the story. I have owned this game for a long, long time, but despite the length of my ownership, it is one game I’ve always kept in the to-play list and never actually completed. Over the years, I’ve started more fresh save files than I can remember. Before I owned my own copy of the game, I remember my brother playing it around the time it was first released in the early 2000s on our PlayStation 2. I didn’t have much experience with role playing games before this. FFX was my gateway to Japanese role playing games. Nearly 25 years later, I am determined to finally experience this game’s story.

I am only a few hours into the game. I know that since the game has been out for so long I can easily find a guide to help me overcome some challenges I will inevitably face. The only guide I am hoping I have to refer to is the one that lists locations of the Al Bhed primers. My rationale behind limiting my use of helpful resources now to a short list of locations these items can be found is this would have been all I would have looked for, had I known about them twenty-something years ago, in an initial play through then.

I plan to write more about how I experience this game over the next few weeks. Since I’ve not kept my earlier promise and written a fresh post at the pace I had initially committed to in April, I will use this game as a launching pad from which I derive content inspiration for my upcoming posts. There is an absolute litany of gaming-related content available on a myriad of platforms, and writing about a game as popular as Final Fantasy X will be almost like yelling into a hurricane. But I think this will be a good excuse for me to practice consistently writing and posting new content to my blog.

Until next time. Chop wood, carry water.
